NASAMS and Aspide air defense systems arrived in Ukraine

The US-Norwegian NASAMS and Spanish Shorad Aspide SAM air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine.

The delivery of Western anti-aircraft missile systems was confirmed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

He noted that the long-awaited air defense systems will strengthen the Ukrainian army and make our skies safer. Reznikov thanked the United States, Norway and Spain for supplying the necessary weapons.

NASAMS is a Norwegian medium-range anti-aircraft missile system. The development of the Norwegian company Norwegian Kongsberg and the American Raytheon.

The complex was created to replace the MIM-23 Hawk, which was in service with the Norwegian Armed Forces.

Aspide is an Italian class of medium-range guided missiles for the destruction of air targets, developed by Selenia. It includes anti-aircraft guided missiles and air-to-air missiles. In 1977 Aspide was adopted by the Italian Air Force. The missile design is based on the American RIM-7E Sea Sparrow.
